Front Runner

Travel Tips:

The total trip from Salt Lake City Airport to the Provo Marriott, using public transportation, takes around 1.5 - 2 hours.

For your entire trip from the SLC International Airport to Provo, you can expect the cost to be around $6.10. The only ticket that you will need to buy is for the FrontRunner, as your fares for the airport light rail & UVX Bus are also covered with that ticket. 

If you have 4 people traveling together, you can get a group pass for $15 that will cover all UTA services, including the Frontrunner and UVX. Less than $4.00 per person! Find out more here.

From: Salt Lake City Airport

To: Provo Marriott (101 W 100 N, Provo, UT 84601)

Day of travel:
 
  1. Go to the TRAX Green Line Airport Station, located by door 2A on the ground level
  2. Buy your FrontRunner ticket at one of the kiosks (which will cover your entire trip to your final destination)
    •  What to select when buying your FrontRunner ticket:
      • FrontRunner
      • One Way
      • Full fare (or reduced fare for senior citizen or disabled passengers) 
      • From: North Temple Boarding Station
      • To: Provo Central (under additional stations)
  3. Get on the TRAX Green Line
  4. Get off the TRAX Green Line at North Temple Bridge/Guadalupe
  5. Head down the escalator/elevator to the the lower level of the station
  6. Take the southbound FrontRunner train to Provo Central Station 
  7. Get off at Provo Central, the last station on the line
  8. Go to Bay J and board UVX toward Orem Central Station
  9. Exit UVX at the Center Street Station (the second stop on the line)
  10. Walk one block west (5 minutes) to the Provo Marriott
    • Uber and Lyft also very present in the area if you don’t want to walk

 

Frontrunner Tips

Provo is South of Salt Lake.
          Take the FrontRunner train going SOUTH.  Check the signage before you board.

The FrontRunner has free wifi.

The FrontRunner train does NOT on operate on Sunday.

          Riders can still get to Provo from the Salt Lake Airport on Sundays (or vice versa), but the journey takes over three hours to complete. Use the Transit app to plan your trip. ​

UVX Tips

Many popular destinations around the Provo/Orem area, are accessible using the UVX line. With buses running every 6-10 minutes, you'll reach your destination in good time.

UVX is currently free for all users.

Amtrak & Greyhound

For a more scenic travel route, consider Amtrak or Greyhound. Greyhound stops in both Provo and Spanish Fork, offering multiple access points to our beautiful valley. Hop on Amtrak's California Zephyr line and travel some of the most beautiful land in the country before you reach your final destination in Provo.
